Christmas program with Walmart - 2007 was the 5th annual Christmas Program. We receive names of local school children in need from the school nurses/social workers in Middletown and Pine Bush. The child’s wish list is put on our own special “ornaments” which we place on the Christmas tree at Walmart on Route 211 East in Middletown. Customers remove a tag(s) from the tree, purchase any of the requested item(s) at any store and the gift is returned to Walmart’s Customer Service Department by a specific date. The gifts are distributed to the schools which are then given to the appropriate families. Children that would not ordinarily be receiving gifts and the best part are the majority of the gifts are clothing. Items that are necessities for these underprivileged children.
